Biking to Brunch

As I have previously stated...I LOVE brunch. Brunch is my jam. The time of day is perfect for a relaxing meal, the weather is sunny and happy, the food is amazing (who doesn't love french toast?!), and you can drink champagne for no apparent reason! It's the best. But biking to brunch...there is nothing better! Ken and I often bike to brunch during the beautiful months in Arizona when our weather can't be beat! From November through May it is stunningly beautiful almost every day with a few cool moments sprinkled in there and the occasional rainy afternoon. But for the most part, it is sunshine and blue skies in beautiful AZ and we take full advantage!

The bike ride itself is so much fun, riding along the canal and through the streets lined with beautiful homes in Scottsdale. There are miles and miles of bike and walking paths throughout AZ - especially around the Scottsdale area. If you are visiting from out of town, I highly recommend renting a house with bikes available or staying at a resort that gives you the option of bike rental. You will not regret it!

Where to go???

The hardest decision we typically have to make is where do we go? There are so many amazing choices for biking to brunch here in amazing AZ. Scottsdale - McCormick Ranch has the best options hands down! This blog post will definitely have to have several parts to it as I have so many great restaurant recommendations for brunch. Depending on your mood, you can go to a trendy joint with great food and amazing craft cocktails, or you can try a smaller spot that has unique entrees and fantastic service. But truly...my recommendations will cover those spots that have it ALL!

The Montauk

The Montauk in Scottsdale near The Waterfront is epic. The self-proclaimed "buzzing brunch scene" stands out as a hot spot in Scottsdale guiding you to "kick back to live music with a lobster roll in one hand and a glass of rose' in the other". They have an eclectic menu, great food, fun cocktails, and an entertaining customer base that will give you plenty of people-watching opportunities.

Our favorite is to bike to The Montauk, sit at the bar, order some great food and mimosas (pro tip: order the bottle and a carafe of OJ :-)) and sit back and watch the people do their thing. You will not be disappointed. There is ALWAYS some guy at the bar that has had too much to drink and is talking loudly about his adventures from the night before. There is also usually a girl's group having a bachelorette luncheon or the "day after" hangover cure. Either way, you've got entertainment for days!!

Check out the Power Up Bowl, the Breakfast Burrito, or the McMontauk Sandwich for a delicious option of some great food. They also have amazing Nutella + Banana crepes if you are looking for a treat!

In addition to a great weekend brunch, The Montauk features "Wine Down Wednesdays" where they have 1/2 off all bottles of wine and live music, Happy Hour all day/every day on Mondays, and Saturday it's "DJs and Cocktails" with music from 1pm to 7pm.

Give it a try https://www.themontaukaz.com/ and we will see you there!

Follow along for other great spots including Luci's at The Grove (check out my blog on Luci's), The Squeeze and more brunch options in Arizona!

XOXO
