You guys!! This place is amazing. I hesitate to share it with you all because we love it so much we want to keep it a secret...but I am here to tell you that you have to try Campo!
This self described "modern Italian tavern" tucked into charming McCormick Ranch is a must-try for all of you local Arizona foodies and those just visiting the area. The ambience is incredible, the food is amazing, the menu is creative "field-to-farm", and the wine selection is top notch. Every time we visit this little gem we leave happy and full of great food and wine.
There are a lot of fantastic restaurants in this foodie mecca known as Arizona. But what sets Campo apart is the ambience, the vibe, the energy, the FEELING you get when you walk in. The service is excellent, the staff are hustling, and the place just feels like home. We truly hate to leave and literally want to "camp out" at Campo. It makes us happy that this is right in our neighborhood and we are blessed to be able to walk or ride our bike to Campo (this also helps burn off some of the calories we consume as we are definitely indulging whenever we go ;-))
Things you should try...the Sebas Meatball appetizer is on the Happy Hour menu and it is divine!! Delicious, juicy and flavorful meatballs lay in an amazing red sauce and are accompanied by the most incredible bread you've ever tried. Another favorite of Ken and mine is the Quattro Formaggi pizza with the meatballs added to it. (*Shout out to our favorite server "Molly" who came up with that great idea!) The wine selection is fabulous and one of our favorite reds is The Pessimist. It is a full bodied, deep red and it pairs well with the meatballs and with our pizza. We recommend sitting at the bar and asking for a couple of samples of wines you want to try...then make your mind up from there.
*Speaking of Molly...she is an exceptional server and bartender! We had the good fortune of having her serve us our very first time at Campo and she is one of the reasons we go back again and again. She makes you feel like she knows you every time you come in and she remembers what your favorites are. She is friendly and attentive and makes everyone feel special! She is the best!!
